    Piece of Junk!
    The Hoover vacuums including this one are not meant to last more than 2 years. We owned this vacuum for about 6-7 months then the main belt broke. The belt is extremely hard to find and cost about $16. All of the parts on this vacuum are made of plastic and certain parts have cracked. It was nice being able to switch from carpet to hardwood effortlessly, but the vacuum is also very noisy. My sincere recommendation is buy a Miele ($400). We did and are extremely happy with it. It has a 7-yr warrantly unlike the 1-yr with Hoover. INVEST in a vacuum that is going to last you a while.

    okay for normal traffic, bad for pet hair
    after taking back not one but two dyson animal vacs about two years ago, I bought the hoover savvy. It worked fantastically…at first. The stair tool was awesome…until I nicked it on the corner of the steps and it stopped working. I used this vacuum about 3 times a week to keep up with the hair from my two border collies and it would pick up the hair and all of the dirt leaving my carpet pretty and fresh. Until the day it got a clog in the hose. Cleaned that out with a jerry rigged contraption. Then the belt blew. Then the power switch became tricky and you had to get it in the right place for it to work. Finally it just went kaput even though I religiously changed the filters and had only had it for two years.

    My mom has one that she bought around the same time and it is still working fine. She does not have excessive pet or person hair, just normal day to day dirt. It is working great for her.

    This vac is light and powerful but doesn’t cut it if you have a lot of hair to pick up on a regular basis.

    Would not recommend it.
    I would not recommend this vacume cleaner. It is junk. I tried to remove the bottom casing to clean the brushes and remove strings that tangel around the brushes. The screwes were so screwed so tight, that when I tried to remove them the plastic broke. Now I have to keep the casing on with rubber bands. I only had the vacume cleaner 1 month. It does pick up dirt on hard floors and the hepa filter is a mess. My mother has had her Hoover for 25 years. But I guess they just don’t make them like they use to. I will never by a Hoover again.

    waste of money
    I purchased the Hoover Savvy 18 months ago and it is going out for the trash this week. I had a Hoover Windtunnel that I loved, along with their floormate, carpet cleaner and stick vac. I had been a loyal Hoover customer until the Savvy’s switch became loose and it no longer worked. Also, it was difficult to pull out the canister for bagless use and collected a lot of lint in the brush that required a pipe cleaner to fish out all of the trapped dirt.

    Do not waste your money on this product. Hoover let me down. I can’t wait for my Dyson to arrive this week!

    Hoover Savvy Switch will break
    What a disappointment. Our Hoover switch also went, of course not until the 12 month warrenty expired. Can’t get parts for just the switch but it looks like you can replace the whole handle if you want to try to repair it. I wonder what will break next and when. . . :(

    Good stuff
    This is a good DVD for BEGINNERS. I realize that is what the title says,but even if you have been dancing for a while, you want to learn new techniques for peforming.That is why I bought this. I have been dancing a while now and even though I’m intermediate, I bought this thinking that it might teach me something new. It is a good DVD if you are majorly sweating your first performance,or if you want to put on a show for someone. But if you are not new to the dance it won’t teach you much that you don’t already know.

    If you are a beginner, BUY THIS. It is a good DVD. If you are an intermediate and have never performed before BUY THIS. It will help you understand the structure of a show. If you have performed more than once,and have taken for more than three years from a good teacher,it will probably be stuff you already know. So be a doll and pass it on to the new kid in class who is freaking out because she is performing for the first time.

    How to Wow Them on a Stage or in a Living Room!
    This is a fantastic instructional DVD, not for learning the basics of bellydancing, but by giving you the building blocks to create your own show. This information is hard to get, and here it is all in one 180 minute DVD. Tanna Valentine is a gorgeous and graceful award-winning dancer, and on this DVD teaches an American Cabaret Style routine, with very simple but eye-catching choreography. There is nothing technically demanding in the dances, and Tanna breaks down each step and gives you plenty of practice time.

    The Dance

    Entrance: On making a serene and graceful first impression, where to focus if you are nervous, etc.

    Veil Dance: Shows the endless possibilities in a simple piece of cloth!

    Party Song: This is a fun dance and the place where you can get audience participation, especially is there is a guest of honor. Tanna shows you the many ways to get them to dance with you, and also how to get them to go back to their seat when you want them to!

    Ciftitelli: This is the slow and sensual number, and Tanna points out the many things you have to consider before doing any floor work in this section.

    Drum Solo: This is the hardest part of the dance, as it takes a lot of control and energy.

    Finale: This is how to pick up your veil and make a lovely and memorable exit. If you’ve studied the lessons on this DVD well, they won’t forget you!

    The How-To of Everything Else

    Cymbals: What to buy, how to put them on, how to play them.

    Costumes: Tanna has a sumptuous array of costumes in her collection, but for those just starting out, or maybe dancing in only one show, she tells you how to get the best effects for the least amount of money. She even goes in her closet and shows how everyday skirts and tops can be transformed into costumes.

    Make-up: This is a great demo of how to apply stage make-up. Dancers need more make-up because the movement makes it harder for the audience to see your facial expression, and Tanna demonstrates the application on her friend Mary.

    Staging: Public and private venues, and what to look out for and how to adapt your choreography to the area you’ll be dancing in.

    The Music

    The music Tanna uses is wonderful and with traditional instrumentation. It is all on the CD Bellydance New York - with Amir Naoum. This is a terrific CD for dancing or just listening, and perfect to have everything you need for your show on 1 disc.

    This DVD is a must for beginners who are setting their sights higher and want to know more about bellydancing, anyone putting their own show on for the first time, and even seasoned dancers might learn a tip or two from Tanna!

    this DVD is a dancer’s friend
    The thing I really like about this DVD is that you actually get to learn a dance…with some DVD’s you just learn moves but it never seems like you’re dancing. This one is all about dancing. It’s not a bellydance workout if that’s what you’re looking for. You get to learn a beautiful choreographed dance. I like all the menu options too…you can just go over the movement review or the choreographed dance and with voice and music or just music. There are so many tips about dancing as well to learn from.

    Wonderful DVD- great for all levels!
    This DVD is very good and worth every penny. Tanna Valentine is a very good instructor and each segment contains useful information, regardless of your dance level. The makeup section is fabulous. Highly recommended!

    Structuring a successful show
    I have personally met Tanna who is a warm and very down to earth person. And she comes across the same way on this DVD. Not only are her instructions clear and concise but she also includes tips and some personal experiences (both good and not so good) that she has encountered. I am very interested what it would take to produce a personal performance and Tanna provides many of the answers. She also rounds out an entire show by breaking down each component/segment for a full 20-30 minute show featuring only you as the sole performer. What music to select and how to keep control of your audience while keeping them interested and engaged. The dvd is jam packed with information about set design, taking command of the stage, make-up, costuming, etc. and would recommend this DVD. It is definitely worth the money spent.

    highly impressed!
    Have a ps2 with an lcd tv recently purchased, first thing I noticed was how crappy the ps2 looked with the new lcd, red the reviews for the monster component cable, it cost $30 with shipping included, I hooked it up to the playstation and was blown away at how much better the game looked, much better grafics and depth of color than the standard tv set I had, all I have to say is trust the customer reviews.

    This cable comes up first in Amazon search results for “Gamecube Component Cable” amoungst other Gamecube video cables, so I ordered it…

    Only to find out this is for PS2!

    I’m sure this is a high quality cable, but why was it listed for Gamecube!?

    Definite improvement, check the cost
    I have a Samsung 46″ HDTV. With the standard composite Playstation 2 cable, resolution is simply very poor. With this component cable, resolution is noticeably improved. It is a worthwhile improvement.

    I purchased this version as it was actually less expensive at the time than the 3 cable component version (that version doesn’t include analog sound, this version does). I have a digital connection from my PS2 to my home theater, which does provide clearer sound than using this cable. But, if you don’t have the capability for digital audio, this cable will still provide more than adequate sound.

    When I purchased this cable it was priced competitively, meaning more than the really cheap cables but on par with the other quality cables. Browse Amazon and you’ll see what I mean: half the cables are very cheap (thin cable, flimsy looking connector) and the other half are “quality” (thicker cable, better quality connector). I think the cheap cables will mostly work, but there will probably be a slightly noticeable quality difference between the two. The difference between a “quality” cable from XYZ brand, however, and a “premium” cable from Monster, is all in the marketing.

    Like I said, I bought this cable because it was priced competitively to the other quality products at the time I purchased. I’ve noticed the price seems to swing wildly (as I’m writing this review, it’s 50% higher than when I bought it). With that said, if the price is right, you can’t go wrong with this. If it’s dramatically more expensive than other cables that look identical, either wait or buy one that looks well made and has good reviews. Wrapping rubber around a wire isn’t exactly rocket science (the real rocket science is in building a brand name to convince someone to pay 50% more for a difference they can’t even notice).

    Don’t break your TV, break the cable!
    Here are the three main points of my review:

    1. As of May 1, 2008, you can buy this item at circuitcitydotcom for $8.96 not including tax or shipping.

    2. Since this item does not include a digital audio cable, if you want digital sound, you can buy the Monster THX 1000 digital audio cable at circuitcitydotcom for $8.39 not including tax or shipping.

    3. Most importantly, if you don’t want to ruin the input ports on your expensive flat screen TV make the following modification to your cable: take some needle nose pliers and bend outwards the teeth around the output tip. This will allow them to fit around the TV input ports. I’d rather ruin a $9 cable then a $2100 TV.

    So I read all the reviews for this item before buying it online at circuitcitydotcom yesterday, April 30, 2008. I paid $8.96 plus tax. Since this doesn’t come with a digital audio cable, I found one, the Monster THX 1000, ULTI1000FO4, at circuitcitydotcom for $8.39. For both, I paid $22.18 including tax and shipping.

    I chose in-store pickup for the component video cable. I just got done installing the PS2 component video cable into my brand new Sony Bravia KDL-40XBR4 and there is a noticeable improvement above the composite cable that came with the PS2. The graphics are clear and sharp. I’m glad that I bought this cable and hope you do too. It helped take advantage of my new TV’s capabilities.

    After reading the reviews about people ruining their input ports and TV’s, I was careful not to force the plugs into the ports. I’m not sure why anyone would use excessive force when working with expensive electronics. Obviously there is something incredibly wrong if it takes fifteen minutes, let alone an hour, to install five plugs. My installation took less than 10 minutes.

    For me, the PS2 end of the cable fit perfectly, even better than the Sony supplied composite cable. I then tried to install one plug into the TV and it didn’t go in easily. I stopped immediately! I went to grab some needle-nose pliers and proceeded to bend the teeth surrounding the plug. I was careful but some of the teeth broke off. This actually was okay.

    In the end, after breaking off one or two teeth from each plug, it made the plug fit into the port like butter. You don’t need to bend the teeth very far to make the plug fit but it doesn’t take much to break them off completely. So if your plugs don’t fit, don’t be afraid of breaking off several teeth while trying to bend them outwards. Except, it’s probably a good idea not to break off all or most of teeth. The plug would then have little or no support and might fall out of the input port.

    I’m sorry for all the people who paid close to $60 for this and had problems. I hope people who read this review will be able to save money by buying the parts the same way I did.
